What should a customer expect from Sunbeam Windows Ltd?

Once you have decided to invest in new double glazed windows or doors, or a conservatory, we here at Sunbeam Windows know that it is an investment that is going to last you a considerable time.

It is important that you as our valued customer know what to expect throughout the process from beginning to end, which is why we have developed this page that is the first step to keeping you informed.

When I contact Sunbeam Windows Ltd who will I speak to, or who will answer my email?

The telephone will be answered by Keith or Nikki we are the owners of the company and always want to be the first person our customers will speak to.  Similarly if you contact Sunbeam Windows via the website or an email, it will be Nikki that provides the initial reply.

Who will come to my home to provide the quotation and listen to my requirements?

This is where we feel Sunbeam Windows can offer you an advantage over larger companies.  Initially both Keith and Nikki will come to your home to listen to your requirements and take basic measurements for a quotation.  A quotation for your replacement doors and windows will then be sent in the post a few days later with an accurate price.

We do not expect our customers to make a decision this big on the night, and we would ask you to err on the side of caution should another company ask you to do this.

What happens when I am ready to place my order?

Once you have decided that Sunbeam Windows Ltd are the company for you.  Keith will visit you again at a time that is convenient to carry out a full survey.  It is important to point out that Keith will also be your window installer, which eliminates the risk of third party mistakes.  Keith will have total control of your job from beginning to end.

On the day the survey is carried out, we collect a deposit which is protected by Installations Assured Ltd.

How long until my windows are installed?

Approximately 4 weeks

Once we have your order with completed survey sizes we arrange for the manufacture of your individual units, as each replacement window and door is made to the exact size.

The manufacture takes approximately 2 weeks, and then they are delivered to us.  We will check them and then we will call you to arrange a date for Keith to install the replacement windows and doors at a date and time that is convenient to you.

How long will it take to fit my replacement windows and doors?

As a qualified and profession installer, Keith always goes for quality over speed.  Although he is usually accompanied by a fitters mate he usually achieves four windows per day.  We are aware that some other companies work faster than this, but we always put quality first.

Where to you start?

We would normally commence with any upstairs replacement windows and work down.

This is to avoid any debris falling down onto new products.  We will always discuss this with you in advance to see if there is any particular order that you want us to work in.

What can I do to help?

Before Keith arrives to carry out your replacement double glazing. We would be ask that you remove any nets or curtains away from the windows as well as moving furniture away from the areas adjoining the windows/doors would help.  Also don’t forget to take any ornaments off of the window boards.

If there are shrubs and plants that grow over your existing windows, we would ask that you prune or remove these to clear the working area before we start.

If you are there on the day a workman always works best with the offer of a tea or coffee, and if you don’t mind the radio on that makes for a happy worker!

What happens to the rubbish?

Throughout the entire installation of your replacement double glazed windows and doors, we will use dust sheets throughout your home.  All dust and mess will be cleared away by Keith.

He will also take away all old window frames and glass and dispose of these in the correct manner.  Rest assured we have a waste carrying licence.

If you want to keep any of the old windows or doors, just let us know in advance and we will be happy to leave these behind for you.

When is my job complete?

Your job is complete once Keith has informed you he is finished the manual work.  He will then give you a walk round of the job and show you basic window maintenance and make sure you are comfortable with all of the window locks etc.

When do I pay?

Once Keith has gone through the walk round check with you, he will ask you for your final payment which will need to be in the form of a cheque made payable to Sunbeam Windows Ltd or cash.  We can arrange for you to pay directly via bacs but this would need to arrive on the date of completion.
